If you are a Dachshund puppies breeder, it's important to prioritize responsible breeding practices to ensure the health and well-being of the dogs. Here are some key tips for responsible breeding:

  1. Health Screening: Ensure that your breeding dogs undergo thorough health screenings to identify and prevent hereditary conditions common in Dachshunds. This may include screenings for hip dysplasia, eye issues, and genetic disorders.

  2. Proper Care: Provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the puppies and their parents. Regular veterinary check-ups are essential to monitor the health of your breeding dogs and their offspring.

  3. Socialization: Expose the puppies to various stimuli and experiences to promote socialization. This helps them develop into well-adjusted, confident adults.

  4. Nutrition: Feed the breeding dogs and their puppies a balanced and nutritious diet to support their health and growth.

  5. Rehoming Standards: Have a comprehensive process for screening potential buyers to ensure they are capable of providing a loving and responsible home for the puppies.

  6. Education: Educate puppy buyers about the specific needs of Dachshunds, including their exercise requirements, grooming needs, and potential health issues.

  7. Contracts and Guarantees: Provide clear contracts outlining the responsibilities of both the breeder and the buyer. Offer health guarantees and return policies to protect the welfare of the puppy.

  8. Breeding Ethics: Avoid excessive breeding, and prioritize the well-being of the dogs over financial gain. Responsible breeders typically limit the number of litters and ensure that breeding pairs are compatible.

  9. Breeder Associations: Consider joining reputable breeder associations or clubs that promote ethical breeding practices. These organizations often provide resources, support, and a network of fellow responsible breeders.

Remember that responsible breeding is crucial to maintaining the health and temperament of the breed and ensuring that the puppies find loving and caring homes. If you have specific questions about breeding practices or need advice on any aspect of Dachshund breeding, feel free to ask.

About us

My wife and I fell in love with the Dachshund breed 8 years ago when we got our first Dachshund puppy. It’s been a fairytale since then, forever happily after, lol. When I retired 5 years ago, I decided to take up breeding Dachshund puppies as a fulltime hobby. I had gone through a lot of breeding training while I was still working in the mines and I easily picked it up when I started. We are not into breeding for profit; the thing is, we had our first Dachshund puppy (Nabra) 8 years ago, after being married for 21 years without a child. Nabra brought back life into our home, and as my wife loves to say, she was our miracle dog, because 2 years later, my wife gave birth to our first son, Zake. This experience is what I want others to have. Our satisfaction comes from knowing that our puppies will bring joy and a new life into the homes they will be going off to. We raise our puppies in a family environment, and each female parent doesn’t have more than 3 litters before they are given up for adoption. We hope you fall in love with one of our Dachshund puppies, and it becomes your miracle puppy.
